More courses with Joanna AsadoorianDr. Joanna Asadoorian is Dental Hygiene Program Coordinator and Professor at George Brown College, School of Dental Health in Toronto, Canada. Joanna completed her dental hygiene training at Erie Community College in Amherst, New York. Later, she earned her BScD (DH) and MSc at the University of Toronto, Faculty of Dentistry. Joanna completed her PhD at the University of Manitoba, Faculty of Medicine in the Department of Community Health Sciences. Her Doctoral research was in the field of knowledge translation, specifically exploring the influence of the organization and gender on clinical decision-making capacity.
Joanna has experience conducting qualitative, quantitative and mixed methods studies. Specifically, she has conducted research in the areas of continuing competency, self-assessment, reflection and change. In addition, she has studied ultrasonic instrumentation curricula and home oral health care practices. Joanna presents and publishes her research locally, nationally and internationally. She also continues to teach various courses, including research methods, to dental hygiene students.
