Robert A. Levine DDS, FCPP, FISPPS
Based on their initial examination, their individual desires and presenting esthetic risk factors, an Esthetic Risk Assessment (ERA) is developed which helps in driving and developing a treatment plan. Along with current multicenter long term clinical studies, we now know when and how to predictably treat these complex SAC patients. Dr. Levine will review predictable treatment planning and the successful treatment of many of these challenging Esthetic Zone clinical cases and reasons for their success, as well as, others treated that became clinical nightmares. Dr. Levine will also review his most recently published consensus paper as primary author on "Soft Tissue Augmentation around Dental Implants" from the 5th ITI Consensus Conference (April 2013). This paper thoroughly covers the primary reasons which contribute to esthetic success and reasons for esthetic failures. Completed cases will be highlighted and reviewed in the esthetic zone with retrospective look at their results and reasons for esthetic success or failure. As the literature has determined, 5 years is considered a long-term result and if problems develop we will see them by then. As Dr. Danny Buser states "When you don’t TREATMENT PLAN and execute implant therapy correctly the first time, you lose the full potential of an esthetic outcome."
