Yawen Peng Assistant Professor at the College of Dental Medicine at Western University of Health Sciences
Dr. Yawen Peng is a board certified pediatric dentist and an Assistant Professor at the College of Dental Medicine at Western University of Health Sciences. Dr. Peng was born and raised in Taiwan. She received her D.D.S. in 2002 from Taipei Medical University. She continued to pursue her D.M.D. degree in the US from the Advanced Standing program at Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine. Following a 2-years hospital residency program in New York, she returned to Boston and completed a post-doctoral training program in Pediatric Dentistry at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. Upon graduation in 2009, Dr. Peng joined a private practice in Los Angeles, CA, and further fulfill her academic passion at the Western University of Health Sciences.
During her academic career at Western University of Health Sciences, her desires to enhance teaching led her to ADEA/AAL programs. She participated in the ADEA/AAL Institute for Teaching through the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry Master Clinician Scholarship program, and further enrolled and received a Master's of Art in Health Professions Education from AAL and the University of the Pacific. She is dedicated to better the patient care in the pediatric population through dental education, research and community services.
