Burkhard Selent MSc, PhD

Burkhard received his BS and Master degree in Chemistry from TU Berlin in 1994. He continued in Environmental Engineering were he completed his PhD in 1999. In 2000 Burkhard joined Colgate-Palmolive Germany and moved through several positions in dental detailing and Scientific Affairs in Germany and the European headquarter in Switzerland. Burkhard moved to the U.S. in May 2016 to become Scientific Affairs Manager for Colgate US. He is responsible for Colgate’s activities in Continuous Education and presented CE courses himself. Burkhard is IADR member and serves on the New York State Dental Foundation Board of Trustees.

Leighton Davies-Smith PhD

Dr. Leighton Davies-Smith is Director of Technology at Colgate-Palmolive, focused on the development of device+chemistry solutions to Oral Care needs. He earned a PhD in Applied Electrochemistry from the University of Brighton,UK. During his over 30 year career he has been dedicated to the development of device+chemistry delivery systems, such as writing instrument technical design and cleaning & sanitation chemical dispensers and is leveraging mechanical, electrical, and chemical interactions to help boost product performance beyond the norm.

Sibel Antonson D.D.S., Ph.D., M.B.A./Professor

Dr. Antonson is currently a Professor and Assistant Dean of Research and Development at Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine (NSU/CDM), in Fort Lauderdale, FL. She served as the Clinical Professor and the Director of Dental Biomaterials at SUNY at University of Buffalo, School of Dental Medicine, and was also a Director of Education and Professional Services at Ivoclar Vivadent. Dr. Antonson has been involved with teaching, research and practice simultaneously initially at the University of Florida, Department of Dental Biomaterials (1997-2000) and NSU/CDM (2001-2008). In 2000, she was appointed as the New Products Manager at Dentsply Caulk where she invented and launched PoGo, the first one-step composite finishing and polishing device. She was elected as the President for the International Association of Dental Research, Dental Materials Group in 2007-2008. Dr. Antonson is serving as the Councilor for the same organization. She has authored book chapters and peer-reviewed publications, and lectured nationally and internationally on dental biomaterials, prosthodontic and restorative techniques.

Lisa Knowles D.D.S.

Dr. Knowles has almost 20 years of practical dental knowledge. After graduating from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, she completed a General Practice Residency at the VA Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Lisa was a communication major at Alma College and consults other dentists on their communication strategies and overall health of their practices. She is an efficiency thinker and works to help others contemplate changes to achieve better systems for their health, their offices, and for the environment.
