Dental considerations in management of patients on GLP-1 Drugs

In a world where more and more patients are on GLP-1 drugs for weight management dental practitioners need to be prepared to address dental side effects and possible complications in delivering dental care in these populations.

GLP-1 drugs such as Ozempic are some of the most common drugs in the USA today. While they pose health benefits for patients needing them, they are not without risk and specific dental side effects/drawbacks. While proper guidelines have not yet been created or researched enough this webinar will serve to better inform of current known side effects/clinically observed data as well as  will suggest potential management strategies.

Participants will learn:

  • Overview of GLP-1 drugs currently available
  • Identify and understand the potential side effects of GLP-1 drugs
  • How to discuss this sensitive topic with patients on GLP-1 drugs
  • Management of oral side effects of GLP-1 drugs
