Dental professionals, like us, are seen as trustworthy sources for oral health information for our patients. Caries and periodontal disease are largely preventable; however these oral diseases continue to affect the population. Of particular importance is the use of oral health products with bioactive elements to provide therapeutic benefits, as the burden of preventable oral diseases persists despite advancements in the science of oral care product formulation.
Active prevention through the use of advanced oral health products can play a pivotal role in reducing this burden by preventing the onset and progression of oral diseases and the development of systemic health issues linked to poor oral hygiene. This course will review the value of patient-centric preventative oral health home care regimen with breakthrough technology to ensure improved oral health outcomes. We will assist you in assessing the needs of your patients and provide them with the appropriate oral home care recommendations.
Participants will learn:
- Examine the impact of oral home care on preventable common oral cavity diseases
- Evaluate the evidence from clinical studies supporting the superior prevention and treatment benefits of a bioactive stannous fluoride toothpaste formulation
- Recognize the impact of an active prevention regimen to deliver biofilm and gingivitis reduction above and beyond that of toothpaste alone
- Determine the most appropriate oral home care recommendation based upon specific patient needs

He was a Distinguished Military graduate from ROTC and served 5 years on active duty as a paratrooper serving at Ft Bragg, NC and a flight nurse for the US Army Burn Unit in San Antonio. He attended NOVA Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, FL graduating in 2003 with his DMD. He completed a 1-year General Practice Residency at the University of Nevada School of Medicine after which he was invited to stay on as faculty and has been teaching at the GPR since 2004. He provides services to medically and cognitively disabled adults as well as most aspects of complex general dentistry, including sedation, surgery, and dental implants. He began his career in research in 2006 and has conducted extensive clinical trials for most major manufacturers in indices such as dentinal hypersensitivity, plaque, gingivitis, as well as whitening and stain removal. Dr. Gallob is retired from the US Army dental corps and continues to serve in education at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas dental GPR.
