While much is discussed about hormonal effects on women throughout their lives, certain health conditions—though possible in men—are far more common among women. Why are these issues more prevalent in women? Some are widely recognized, while others receive less attention. This program will examine several conditions that disproportionately impact women but are often underrepresented in medical education. Discover topics that are not frequently discussed yet can influence both women’s overall and oral health.
Participants will learn:
- Define autoimmune conditions
- Explain the role of estrogen in the temporomandibular joint
- Review PMR and understand Raynaud’s
- Discuss other common & uncommon conditions affecting women
