Oral lesions are a common finding in the general population. This interactive, case-based session will consist of a discussion of common oral lesions that are commonly seen in the scope of general dentistry. The etiology, pathogenesis, clinical/radiographic findings, differential diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of each condition will be reviewed.
Participants will learn:
- Characterize clinical/radiographic features of the presented conditions
- Explain the etiopathogenesis of each disease discussed during lecture.
- Develop a differential diagnosis for all conditions discussed in the session
- Determine the optimal treatment options and the prognosis for the diseases discussed in the course.

Upon obtaining his D.D.S. degree in Brazil, Dr. Jham pursued a certificate and an M.S. degree in Oral Medicine. He then completed a residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and obtained a Ph.D. degree in Oral and Experimental Pathology, both at the University of Maryland, Baltimore. In addition to his teaching and clinical responsibilities, Dr. Jham has authored 69 peer-reviewed articles and is an editorial board member of Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, Oral Radiology. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology.
